Electrical Service Technician | Canmore, AB | $50.00/hr

Your next service call could have a mountain view.

Let’s be honest, electrical troubleshooting is electrical troubleshooting. But doing it in Canmore makes the drive between calls a whole lot better.

Crestview Group is looking for an experienced Electrical Service Technician to join our team in the Bow Valley. We’re looking for someone who knows their trade, enjoys figuring out problems, can work independently, and is comfortable being the person our customers trust when something isn’t working.

One day you might be troubleshooting an electrical issue, the next completing an installation or repair, coordinating with other trades, or helping guide an apprentice. If you like variety and would rather be solving problems in the field than doing the exact same thing every day, you’ll fit right in.

About Crestview

Crestview Group is a Calgary-based electrical contractor specializing in construction, service, controls, solar, and data systems. For almost 40 years, we’ve delivered quality projects across Alberta and beyond, building our reputation on integrity, innovation, teamwork, and the strength of our people.

At Crestview, we’re proud of the work we do and the people behind it. Our teams are tight-knit, driven, and collaborative, and we value initiative, curiosity, and people who are willing to learn and grow. We support professional development through hands-on experience, mentorship, certification support, and opportunities to expand your skills or pursue leadership paths.

We’re committed to creating a workplace where people feel respected, supported, and valued. We believe different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives make our team stronger and help us continue to grow as a company.

We offer competitive pay based on experience, exceptional benefits, and the opportunity to build a meaningful career with a company that’s been growing and evolving for nearly 40 years.

The Job

As a Service Technician, you’ll:

  • Complete electrical service, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work
  • Work independently on general and emergency service calls
  • Diagnose problems and come up with practical solutions
  • Read electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment
  • Communicate directly with customers about the work being completed
  • Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation
  • Work alongside contractors and other trades
  • Provide guidance to apprentices and helpers when required
  • Keep jobs organized with the right materials, tools, labour, and equipment
  • Follow electrical codes, safety requirements, and Alberta OHS standards
  • Participate in emergency and on-call service when required

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification (Red Seal or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of electrical field experience as a service technician
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical systems
  • A solid understanding of electrical codes and standards
  • The ability to read drawings, technical documents, and blueprints
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • The confidence to work independently and make sound decisions
  • A reputation for being dependable, trustworthy, and doing things properly

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll also need to be comfortable with the physical side of the trade, including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors and in active construction or service environments.

Work in the Bow Valley. Live in the Bow Valley.

If you’re going to spend your day on service calls, you might as well have the Rockies as your backdrop.

Crestview Group offers the opportunity to build your career while working in one of Alberta’s best places to live, work, ride, hike, ski, climb, paddle, or just enjoy the view.

Bring the tools. We’ll supply the mountain backdrop.
