ABOUT THE ROLE
Join our Comprehensive Community Support Team (CCST) as a Registered Nurse and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team, you will deliver client-centred, community-based care that supports recovery, stability, and overall well-being. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with professionals across disciplines while building strong therapeutic relationships with clients in a community setting.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO)
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing
- Experience providing care in a community-based setting to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness
Skills/Abilities:
- Proven leadership abilities and team coordination skills
- Proficiency in nursing assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with the ability to foster therapeutic relationships
- Evidence of continuing professional development experience
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric illnesses, treatment approaches, and relevant legislation (MHA, HCCA, OH&S, PHIPA)

Understanding of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), recovery principles, least restraint practices, and the safe use of safety devices

Familiarity with nursing practice standards, professional guidelines, and evidence-based practices in serious mental illness
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of an interprofessional team
- Capability to meet the physical demands of the role
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Asset:
- Additional training/certification in working with addiction/mental health issues an asset
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Will be required to travel to various locations within the community and provide own transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours and shift work schedules
